Roulette Live

Like the real-life casino game, live roulette is fast-paced and engaging, with multiple betting options and ways to win.
The rules of roulette don’t change, but there is a time limit for placing bets in each round, at the end of which the dealer spins the wheel.
If you’ve ever played online roulette, a similar format is used there.

How To Bet

Placing a bet on the live roulette table is simple: all you need to do is pick your desired amount (as long as it’s higher than the minimum bets for that lobby),
decide which bet you want to make, and click on it. From there, the live dealer will acknowledge your bet and place physical chips on the table.
Luckily, in live roulette, you can place as many bets as you please.

Once all bets are placed the croupier will spin the wheel and call the winning number.
If your bet wins, you’ll receive a payout equal to the odds for that bet,
however, if you lose, your chips are taken and your bankroll will be depleted.

Inside Bets and Odds

Inside bets are bets on single numbers. You can make several types of inside bets in live roulette:
• Straight – a single number bet (two, 23, 14 etc.) with has odds of 35:1, meaning a £1 bet would result in a £35 payout
• Split – a bet placed across two adjacent numbers, with the chip placed on the line that separates them, and has a payout of 17:1
• Street – this bet is placed on three number in a row with odds of 11:1
• Corner – you place a bet on four separate numbers with odds of 8:1
• Line – a line bet is placed across two rows with six separate numbers, with odds of 5:1

Outside Bets and Odds

Outside bets are placed on a group of numbers. In live and online roulette, there is a range of outside bets available:
• Red/Black – you bet on whether the ball will land on a red or black number, with odds of 1:1
• Odd/Even – you bet on whether the ball will land on an odd or even pocket, with odds of 1:1
• High/Low – the last bet with odds of 1:1, you bet whether the ball will land on a number between 1-18 or 19-36
• Dozens – you pick a group of 12 numbers across the table with odds of 2:1
• Column – this bet is placed on one of the inside bet columns, incorporating 12 numbers, with odds of 2:1

Live Roulette Hacks for Beginners

1) Know Your Odds

This is one of the easiest live roulette hacks to follow, as it only requires a bit of attention on the part of the player. Knowing the odds of each bet before you sit down to play any live casino game is incredibly important, as it plays a part in some live roulette trategies, helps you know where to put your money depending on your bankroll, and lets you know the easiest ways to win.
As a general rule, outside bets – the bets that consist of grouped numbers and colours such as black, odds, or dozens – have lower odds, meaning they’re more likely to come up on the wheel. For example, a bet on red has odds of 1:1, effectively giving you a 50% chance of being right, however, the payout is quite low.
Alternatively, inside bets – bets on a specific number of collection of specific numbers – have higher odds, and the payout is much greater.

2) Pick Your Game Wisely

Knowing which live or online roulette game you want to play is fundamental to the roulette experience. While this may not be a ‘hack’ in the strictest sense, you’ll definitely be thankful for knowing the differences between the types of game, such as American and European roulette, as the variations can have a massive effect on how you play and how much you could win!
Before you commit to a game, always read the rules and understand the basic mechanics, because you don’t want to put down a large deposit only to find that the game isn’t for you.

3) Check for the En Prison Rule

This live roulette hack is closely linked to choosing your game, though you may have to join the live casino lobby to make sure that your provider runs it.
Essentially, the En Prison rule allows you to reset your wager if the ball lands on zero. So, for example, if you bet £10 on black and the ball landed on zero, your bet would be carried over to the next round.
The advantages of this rule being used are obvious, not least because it reduces the house edge even lower than traditional European Roulette.
If you want to find the En Prison rule in live roulette, it’s most likely to be played on European tables or French Roulette lobbies.
And if you don’t know whether you can use it, you can always ask the live dealer directly.

4) Set Yourself a Target

This is a really simple one. Before you sit down to play live roulette, make sure you know your goals: you’re there to have fun and making money is a bonus.
Too many players get greedy and continue to play long past the point at which they should have stopped, trying to recoup losses and wasting their potential winnings in the process.
If you’ve had your fill and it’s all going good, walk away! Equally, if it isn’t your day, known when to leave the live casino lobby and save your bankroll for another time.

5) Learn a Betting Strategy

The best live roulette hack is to learn a decent betting strategy, such as the Martingale, D’Alembert, or Paroli strategies.
While these are not 100% effective, they’re good starting points for learning the basics of bankroll management and betting.
