Genting Highland is gearing up for another court battle, this time in Las Vegas.
Genting, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, said its indirect wholly owned subsidiary Resorts World Las Vegas (RMLV) has notified the company on Dec 24 that a complaint was filed by Wynn Resorts Holdings against RWLV.
Wynn Resorts, in it complaint dated Dec 21, has alleged that the Genting’s upcoming Resorts World Las Vegas hotel and casino resorts is similar to Wynn Resort hotel in terms of architectural design.
“RWLV is in the process of reviewing the complaint with its legal counsels and will strenuously defend the claim and take all necessary legal action, as appropriate,” Genting said.
The Genting group, last month, filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney Co and Twenty-First Century Fox Inc for abandoning a licensing contract tied to the construction of a Fox-branded theme park.
